History for J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite

Rouge Hematite, an ink from J. Herbin's 1670 series, was released in 2010 to mark J. Herbin's 340th anniversary. The ink has been described as bright coral red, nearly pink, and saturated candy red, reflecting it's name ("rogue" for red, "hematite" for an iron ore, commonly used to make pigments). One reviewer mentions you hardly see the base colour on anything but bad paper, as the sheen and shimmer overtakes it otherwise. The shimmer, gold, gets evenly distributed in writing as long as you shake then pen fairly often. The sheen is greenish or green-gold, and has a tendency to cover everything else about the ink, or else give wide haloes around stroke edges.
It can smear somewhat, according to some reviewers, and caution is suggested as it may stain pens or converters. Some nib creep is also reported.
