History for Akkerman Dutch Masters #05 Israel's Zeeblauw

Akkerman Dutch Masters is a beautiful sea blue/teal/turquoise/blueish ink. It comes in a beautiful 120 ml glass bottle.

Akkerman The Hague presents a new ink line that is entirely dedicated to the great Dutch Masters. Twelve different colors are available, inspired by the basic tones of paintings by Rembrandt, Hals and Vermeer, among others. The color names have been chosen with a wink, in relation to a used color or subject.

The original shape of the bottle, which is characterized by the long neck with marble, comes from the thirties. In addition to the long neck, the bottle is characterized by the round shape and stable wide base. The new "Dutch Masters" bottle has a capacity of more than 120 ml (4.0 oz) and therefore contains more than twice as much ink as the "regular" Akkerman ink bottles.

By tilting the closed ink bottle, the neck fills with ink. Back upright, the marble will fall back and prevent the ink from flowing back. This creates a reservoir with ink above the marble from which the fountain pen can easily be filled, even when the jar is almost empty!
