Sakitamakofun magatama さきたま古墳 勾玉 is an ink made for the store Papier Platz, located in Saitama city in Saitama prefecture. “Sakitama” is the old spelling for Saitama, “kofun” is the name for tumuli or megalithic tombs constructed betwen the 3rd and 7th centuries Current Era in the Japanese archipelago, and “magatama” are drop-shaped beads made from various minerals, often green jade. This ink has a pale green jade-colour leaning slightly to blue, shades nicely and gets good outlines around strokes, but has no sheen. It is sold in Sailor’s 50 ml square glass ink bottles, and is unsurprisingly made by Sailor for Papier Platz.
